Police urge Almada policy holders to confirm insurance validDec 14, 2007 12:48 PMBy: Joe Fantauzzi, Staff WriterA Richmond Hill man faces fraud charges in Toronto after an investigation into an alleged insurance scam.A man, who police identified as an ex-insurance broker, allegedly sold car insurance to a victim who believed the insurance was valid.The man, who was operating under the name of Almada Insurance Incorporated,then deposited the victim’s cash into a personal bank account and forged all the documents for the insurance, police said.John London, 38, of Richmond Hill is charged with fraud under $5,000, falsification of books or documents, uttering a forged document and sell/give/distribute a false insurance card.
